The Congregation of the Missionary Brothers of St. Francis of Assissi, and International Society of Religious Brothers was found in 1901 in India by Rev. Bro. Paulus Moritz. It was established mainly to look after and educate the orphans and rural masses. With this aim it was Rev. Bro. Paul Chukanany, who started a commercial institute in typewriting and shorthand for the poor students, a tailoring and embroidery class for grown up girls and also a nursery class for little children. He encouraged continuance of the nursery class to an English medium school by yearly raising the classes. From a small school formally inaugurated by Mrs. Sarala Gopalan, then collector of Trivandrum during the academic year 1973. We have grown up to be an educational institution far behind none.In the long run we started classes for State syllabus, ICSE and CBSE. Today, the Franciscan Brothers continue their commitment of training young minds to take up the challenges of the future, with the generous support of people in all walks of life.
Lourdes Mount Public School is a leading institution, owned and managed by the Fransican Brothers, a well known charitable organization, interested in the service of people fortheir development. It follows the syllabus of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the medium of instruction is English.
We got affiliation for CBSE in 2007. In the year 2013-2014 Lourdes Mount Public School was upgraded to Senior Secondary School. We have been witnessing a steady growth till this time. We got affiliation upto 31 March, 2026.
